Terms of Use
1. Agreement
Budget Control is provided by Artem Starodubtsev, a sole trader based in Spain ("we", "us"). Contact: support@budget-control.app.
By installing and using Budget Control you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What the app is
Budget Control is a tool for tracking personal and household finances. You enter income and expenses manually; the app adds them up and visualises them.
It is not a banking, payment or investment service. It does not connect to your accounts or cards, does not move or hold your money, and offers no financial, tax or investment advice. The only payment in the app is the subscription fee for the app itself, collected by Apple (section 4). Decisions about your money are yours alone.
3. Account
You need an account: by email, with Apple or Google, or as a guest joining with an invite code. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Use a real email address — without one, access cannot be recovered.
You can delete your account at any time: Settings → Delete account.
4. Subscription
Price and period. Access to the app requires a subscription. There are two plans: €4.99 per month or €39.99 per year. Both give the same access. The prices shown are for Spain and may differ by country and currency; the final price is always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Free trial. New subscribers get the first 7 days free, whichever plan they choose. The trial is available once for both plans together: switching from one plan to the other does not give a new trial, and on any later subscription the paid period starts immediately.
Switching plans. You can switch between the monthly and the yearly plan in your Apple ID settings. Apple decides when the switch takes effect and how any unused time is credited.
Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically. Payment is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period — including when the free trial converts to paid. Renewal continues until you cancel.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, otherwise the next period is charged. We cannot cancel on your behalf — subscription management sits entirely with Apple.
After cancelling, access continues until the end of the paid period and then stops.
Payment is collected by Apple, charged to your Apple ID account. We never receive or store your card details.
Price changes. Apple will notify you in advance of any price change and, where required, ask for your consent. Without consent the subscription will not renew at the new price.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. Contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) rather than us — we cannot refund a payment ourselves.
Right of withdrawal (EU). The subscription is sold to you by Apple, so any statutory right of withdrawal is exercised through Apple, under Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Promo codes. We may issue codes for a discount or a free period. They are redeemed through Apple, apply on the terms stated when issued, hold no cash value, and may expire.
5. What works without a subscription
Without an active subscription, working with a budget is unavailable. Regardless of subscription, you always retain access to:
- exporting your data (Settings → Export data);
- deleting your account;
- signing in and out.
Your records remain stored after a subscription ends and become available again if you resubscribe. You may delete them at any time along with your account.
6. Shared budgets
An invite code grants access to a budget. By sharing it you deliberately let another person view and edit every record in that budget. Treat the code like a password. The owner can require approval for new members and remove any member.
The subscription covers the budget. If a member of a budget subscribes — usually its owner — everyone in that budget uses the app under that subscription for as long as it is active. A separate subscription per member is not required.
7. Acceptable use
You must not: attempt to access others' data, including guessing invite codes; circumvent subscription checks; disrupt the service or place excessive load on it; reverse engineer or circumvent protections; use the app unlawfully.
8. Your data
Your budget data is yours. We process it only to operate the app, as described in the Privacy Policy. We claim no ownership of it.
9. Backups and no warranty
The app keeps backups (up to 7 daily and 4 weekly), but this does not replace your own backup — export your data yourself. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted operation or data preservation. We do not warrant that calculations are free of errors — verify important figures yourself.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or decisions made on the basis of figures shown in the app.
11. Changes and termination
We may change the app and these terms; material changes will be surfaced in the app. We may restrict access for breach of section 7. You may stop using the app at any time by cancelling the subscription and deleting your account.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain.
If you use the app as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country or of Spain.
